Quick Story About Myself
I was born on the 26th of September 1993 in Blaricum, the Netherlands. At the time my dad was working for Heineken in the Bahamas where I went at the age of 2 weeks. My older brother, Stijn was four when I arrived with my mother in the Caribbean. We had considered birth in Miami but decided for it to be done in the Netherlands. It was the start of my international life. It wasn’t long before I moved again. At the age of 1 I moved back to the Netherlands where I spent four years in my home country. Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam was where my first schooling experience took place as a consequence of my dad being sent there. My young age unfortunately prevented from me remembering many of our visits to Australia and the surroundings. My parents are both travelers, always enjoying the discovery of new places and people, something that I have inherited.
After three years I moved back to the Netherlands only to continue to Madrid a year later where I attended an international school once again. In fact, besides the one year in a Dutch kindergarten I have always attended international schools taught in English. In Spain I made my transition from primary to secondary school and it was then that my parents fell in love with Spain. I have been, and clearly remember, to every corner of Spain. My parents truly love Spain, and I share the admiration. It was before we moved again, this time to Poland, that my parents purchased a vacation house in Andalucía on the shoreline. After Poland I moved to Munich, Germany in the summer of 2007. It was at the Munich International School that I started the IB program.
I have lived in many places, and have enjoyed every opportunity that came with it. In the summer of 2010 I went to Tanzania on a school organized service trip. One could say that I fell in love with Africa. It’s a truly beautiful continent and I definitely plan to go back. Over the years I have grown a large passion for aviation and anything that flies. Crossing off airline pilot from my list of possible careers I plan to study Aerospace Engineering and see where I go from there.
