Cadiz Aerial Shots!

During an hour-long flying lesson on the 8th of April we flew the Cessna 172 down the Costa de la Luz including a great sweep over the city of Cadiz. Usually the airspace above the Bahia de Cadiz is restricted up to 6000 feet above sea level however we were lucky enough to be cleared through the area at 2000 feet. Given we were flying a 172 it meant that had the opportunity to make some great aerial photographs of the city. I was surprised by how much buildings you could squeeze into such a small peninsula! Notice the majestic Catedral de Santa Cruz de Cádiz in the first photograph, definitely a beautiful sight in between dozens of white houses with red roofs.

Vriesia Beeldbank

The ‘Vriesia Beeldbank’ is my first commercial company where I worked with the company to build a webshop full of photographs of the products they sell. The project was quite challenging, the requirements included a payment procedure and secure protection and watermarking of the images to prevent theft. The requirements were all met and the website turned out to be a great success for the company.

By incorporating AJAX I was able to create a very user friendly interface, allowing customers to order pictures with just one click. Furthermore an option was also built in to grab all purchased photographs and send them to the customer in a ZIP file, a great solution to having to download each file individually.

Furthermore the project was a great learning experience for me, I expect to be working for the company on other web projects in the future.

The Universal Flight Management Computer or UFMC as known to the X-Plane world is a great addon product for this great addon flight simulator. This website was created upon request of the developer of this addon and includes a system in which users can purchase the product with PayPal.

Zon Executive Virtual Airline

My project at ZonExecutive is really the most extensive website I have ever built. Although powered by the popular phpVMS system I have made countless modifications and extensions truly making in a whole new website. With the latest of AJAX, Javascript, MySQL, CSS, PHP and many other languages I have programmed a complete flight booking system, preflight briefing including fuel and other enroute calculations as well as incorporating a great social platform for our pilots to engage in conversations about each others PIREPs, uploaded Screenshots and career. With a pilot base of over the 160 members after just one year we are growing a great community supported by our forum for the X-Plane 9 and 10 flight simulator. ZonExecutive was the project that taught me about 90% of the knowledge I have on web development.
