Universality: to what extent is it possible?
It’s always difficult to figure out what aircraft to model. They are all so awesome! For a long time I have modelled the Boeing 737-800 because EADT’s 737 model has such amazing hardware support and in conjuction with the x737FMC (UFMC) and the amazing xHSI software you get yourself a pretty amazing simulation.
I have however, also easily been able to fly a Boeing 767-300ER, Boeing 747-400 and a McDonnell Douglas MD-11.
With the release of vasFMC 2.1 and QPAC’s A320 it became a lot easier to model an Airbus flight deck as opposed to the Boeings.
Besides, at the moment, I dont have the time and money to focus on a specific aircraft in much depth and visual detail.
Verdict? Airbus. Why? They have flight deck commonality, allowing me to support their complete fleet and of course… they are the best!
